CHRISTMAS IN THE MOUNTAINS MEETS SPA TOWN FLAIR
Stroll, taste and feel the festive magic getting closer
From the end of November, there is a special magic in the air in Meran. Christmas - not a season, not a time. More of a feeling that makes itself at home in our minds and takes root in our hearts. Thousands of lights and over 80 stalls adorn the magnificent spa promenade in Meran, which you can reach from the AMARIL in 25 minutes.
THE MERAN CHRISTMAS MARKET
The sound of the Passer river accompanies you as you stroll along Meran's promenade. The decorated wooden houses are filled with treasures from the region, including intricately carved wooden figures, jewellery, sustainable toys, hand-painted Christmas baubles, steaming-hot drinks and wonderfully smelling treats. Just a few steps further are the historic arcades with numerous boutiques, shops, cafés and restaurants.
THE CHRISTMAS MARKETS IN VINSCHGAU
In addition to the original South Tyrolean Christmas markets, you can also visit special Christmas markets in some towns around Vinschgau. The highest Christmas market in the Alps takes place at 2,061 metres on the Enzianalm in the Martelltal valley. The smallest town in South Tyrol is also a place for reflection when the people of Glurns invite you to their traditional Advent market. Within the medieval walls, choirs, brass bands and theatre performances conjure up a magical Christmas atmosphere on the second weekend of Advent.
